Abstract

Specifically it aimed the following: 1. To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, educational attainment, religion, monthly income, number of children and length of marriage. 2. To determine the physical and psychological abuses on selected respondents. 3. To determine the significant differences on the physical and psychological abuses when the respondents are grouped according to age, educational attainment, religion, monthly income, number of children, and length of marriage. These study was conducted in Brgy. Burol I, Dasmariñas, Cavite with a total population of 50 selected married women with the age bracket of 18 to 65 years old. Based on the findings of the study, the conclusions were drawn: 1. Regarding the profile of the selected married women that in terms of age majority belong to 18-45 years old. In terms of educational attainment, majority fall under high school graduate, in terms of religion majority of the married women falls under catholic, in terms of family income majority of the respondents belongs to low class with an income of P4,999 and below, and regarding the number of children almost of the respondents have 1-3 children. 2. On the physical abuse the common occurence that usually happened to the married women was pushing done by their husband, and the least was hitting with a gun or any blunt object. While on the psychological abuse the common occurrence that usually existed was being shouted with bad words and the least was an instance that husband threaten the wife that he would commit suicide. 3. In terms of age, religion, number of children, and length of marriage there was no significant difference in the selected married women, as a result of the studies made, such variables does not affect the women both on the physical and psychological abuses, while the educational attainment have a significant difference on both physical and psychological abuses because of the level of understanding and perception regarding what is happening and in terms in family income per month, there was no significant difference in the physical abuse.
