Abstract
The descriptive research method was utilized in this study. The main subject of the study were 100 young adult students who are enrolled in Physical Therapy, Medical Radiation Technology and Nursing programs of De La Salle University- Health Sciences Campus and De La Salle University-Dasmarinas. Purposive and Selective sampling was utilized. The instrument that used to collect the data was questionnaire formulated by the researchers. The statistical treatment utilized in the study were mean and pearson’s correlation coefficient. 1) The mean level of perception on obese people are: leadership skills (mean= 2.23), work ethics (mean= 2.16) health physique (mean= 1.99), physical attributes (mean= 1.98), personal grooming (mean= 1.91). The overall mean level of 2.09 reveals that the respondents had an acceptable perception on obese people; 2) The mean level of acceptance had a mean level ranging from 1.97 to 2.27 which was described as acceptable. The overall mean of 2.12 reveals that the respondents have an acceptable level of acceptance on obese people; 3) The overall perception on these people using Pearson’s r has a computed results of 0.57. The implies that there is a moderate positive linear relationship between mean level of perception and mean level of acceptance on obese people; 4) The level of perception and the level of acceptance of the of the respondents on obese people are both acceptable and they had no significant relationship.
