Abstract

The study utilized the descriptive type of research. A total of 80 primary care giver with hospitalized child ages 0-7 years old were chosen as the respondents of the study via purposive sampling. The setting of this stud was Pediatric Ward in selected hospitals in Cavite particularly Dasmarinas, and Tanza. The instrument used in this study was adopted from State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) by Spielberger. The statistical treatment used in the study were percentage of frequency, mean, t-test, and f-test. Majority of the primary care giver belongs to age group ranging from 22-35 years old or young adult, female, catholic, have reached high school level and were mothers. Most of the hospitalized child belonged to 1-3 years old or toddlers, suffering from an acute condition and with family monthly income of below 10,000. Most of the respondents suffered severe anxiety level when their child is hospitalized. Age, sex religion, educational attainment, relationship to the child, age of hospitalized child, type of condition and family monthly income does not affect the anxiety level of primary care giver with hospitalized child.
