Abstract

To evaluate the performance of student nurses in Occupational health nursing (OHN) based on perception of selected employees from the different companies affiliated by the college of nursing and midwifery (CNM), De La Salle University-Health Sciences Campus The study sought to determine the following questions: 1. Determine the profile of the selected employees from the different companies affiliated by CNM, DLSU-HSC, in terms of age and length of service. 2. Find out the level of performance of the student nurses in OHN based on the perception of selected employees of the different companies affiliated by the CNM, DLSU-HSC. 3. Determine the significant difference between evaluation and the performance of student nurses in OHN as perceived by the selected employees of the different companies affiliated by the CNM, DLSU-HSC were drawn using the purposive sampling. A sample of 100 respondents comprising of employees from the different companies affiliated by the CNM, DLSU-HSC were drawn using the purposive sampling. The profile of the respondents in terms of age revealed majority of the respondents were in adulthood (26 years old and above) with 57% followed by young adulthood (18-25 years old) with 43%. In terms of length of service, majority of the respondents were in service for 49-60 months with 29% followed by those in service for 61 months and above with 26%. the least were those in service for 24-36 months and 37-48 months with 24% and 21% respectively.
