Abstract

This study utilized a descriptive type of research design using formative evaluation. The respondents of the study comprised of 50 faculty members teaching AHSE subjects from different tertiary schools, 30 from Laguna and 20 from Cavite. A checklist type of questionnaire adapted from instructional program evaluation tool of Philippine Accredited Association of Schools Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) and curriculum guideline of Department of Rehabilitation Medicine – Philippine General Hospital (DRM-PGH) and modified by the researchers were the main tool of this undertaking. The statistical treatment used in the stud were frequency distribution, mean, t-test, and f-test. 1) Majority of the respondents were 26-30 years old or middle going adults The grouped was equally divided according to gender, and as of length of teaching experiences, majority were teaching for 5 to 10 years. Majority of them were handling 2 AHSE subjects, and finally, in terms of course handled majority were handling nursing students; 2) In the degree of relevance of AHSE curriculum as a preparatory program for the health-related courses in terms of the subject content and learning experience were both moderately relevant; 3) There are no significant differences in the degree of the relevance of AHSE curriculum as preparatory program when respondents were grouped according to age, gender, length of the teaching experience, number of AHSE subject handled, and course handled.
