There is no significant difference between the level of hope of non-institutionalized elderlies when grouped according to gender as shown by the computed t-ratio of 0.279 which was lower compared to the tabular t-ratio of 1.65; 5.) There is significant difference between the level of hope of institutionalized and non-institutionalized elderlies when grouped according to civil status as shown by the computed F-ratio of 2.74 which was higher compared to the tabular F ratio of 2.68; 6.) There is no significant difference between the level of hope of institutionalized elderlies when grouped according to religion as shown by the computed F ratio of 0.336 which was lower compared to the tabular F ratio of 1.65; 7.) There is no significant difference between the level of hope of non-institutionalized elderlies when grouped according to religion as shown by the computed F ratio of 0.746 which was lower compared to tabular F ratio of 1.65; 8.) There is no significant difference between the level of hope of institutionalized elderlies when grouped according to educational attainment as shown b the computed F-ratio of 0.605 which was lower compared to the tabular F ratio of 2.68; 9.) There is no significant difference between the level of hope of non-institutionalized elderlies when grouped according to educational attainment as shown by the computed F ratio of 0.193 which was lower compared to the tabular F ratio of 2.68; 10.) There is no significant difference between the level of hope of institutionalized and non-institutionalized elderlies when grouped according to social support system as shown by the computed F ratio of 0.997 which was lower compared to the tabular F ratio of 3.07.
