Abstract

The researchers used a comparative descriptive survey design in this study in gathering data for analysis. Since the study dealt with adolescent health, the study focused on first year to fourth year high school students, ages 12-20 years old. This study covered 160 respondents. Ten respondents from each year level were taken from four selected schools in Dasmarinas, Cavite, using convenience sampling. Data were gathered through a survey type of self-made questionnaire was developed by the researchers and was utilized in the study. The statistical treatment utilized in the study were frequency distribution, mean, t-test, and f-test. 1) From the 160 respondents, most of the respondents are female and belong to the 14-16 years old age group. There are more catholic respondents than non-Catholic ones. Majority of the respondents belong to a nuclear type of family. A great number of respondents have a monthly family income of P10,000 and below; 2) The respondents from public and private high schools are aware to a great extent regarding adolescent health; 3) The level of awareness on adolescent health is not significantly related to age, gender religion, type of family and monthly family income.
