Abstract

The researcher utilized the non-experimental descriptive type of research. Data gathering is limit for a sample of forty-eight respondents. Criteria require of the respondents were staff nurses in De La Salle University Medical center, Philippine Children Medical Center, Manila Doctor’s Hospital, and Dr. Jose P. Rizal National Medical Research Center. The researchers performed an initial survey to establish a profile, which was used in actual data gathering. The researchers formulated a questionnaire based on the review of literature, ready-made instruments and through observations. The statistical treatment used in the study was frequency distribution, percentage, mean, f-test, and t-test. 1) Most respondents of the study were consisted of staff nurses who belong to the 2025 years old group, females, have worked for 2-3 years, most are from De La Salle University Medical Center, and graduated from non-De La Salle University-Dasmarinas school; 2) The De La Salle University-Health Campus students nurses had very good level of performance as perceived by staff nurses on selected affiliated institutions whereas, the level of performance of De La Salle University-Health Sciences Campus student nurses as perceived by staff nurses on selected affiliated institutions are not affected by age, length of service and school graduated; 3) Gender and institutions affects the perception of the respondents to the performance of student nurses.
