Abstract
This study aimed to determine the level of awareness of individuals regarding aesthetic procedure in terms of physical and psychological aspect of a person. Specific Specifically, this study seeks to determine the following: 1.What is the socio-demographic profile of the respondents? 2.What is the level of awareness of the respondents regarding aesthetic procedures in terms of physical and psychological aspect of a person? 3.Is there a significant difference in the level of awareness on the aesthetic procedures in terms of physical and psychological aspect of a person when the respondents are grouped according to gender, age, civil status, religion and socio-economic status? The research focused on the level of awareness of individuals regarding aesthetic procedures in terms of physical and psychological aspect of a person. A total of 100 populations, both male and female, have been interviewed and given a questionnaire containing all pertinent data which served as the basis for the researchers on how to select a respondent: they should not be below 12 years old and not older than 60 years old; either individuals who already underwent aesthetic procedures or those who have not yet undergone an aesthetic procedure; persons who completed primary level of education and able to read and write; they may come from urban or rural areas; and must not have a health-related work, both men and women. Among the 100 respondents, 41 (41%) are from ages 20-29, 28 (28%) belongs to the age group below 20 years old, and 17 (17%) of them belong to the 40-49 age group while 8 (8%) came from 30-39 years of age and 6 (6%) are people aged 50 years old and above. Most of them are female (52 or 52%) and only 49 or 48% are male. There are more single respondents (56 or 56%) than married respondents (40 or 40%). On the other hand both separated and widowed are only 2 or 2%. There are more people who are Catholics which are represented by 73 or 73% of the respondents and the remaining 27 or 27% are non-Catholics. Of the 100 respondents, 41 or 41% are unemployed/students, 30 or 30% are employed and 29 of them are self employed. Majority of them have no income below P10,000, 18 or 18% earns P10,000-P20,000 while 11 or 11% of them have an income of 20,001-P30,000 and only 3 or 3% earns above P30,000 1.The respondents are moderately aware regarding on the physical and psychological aspect of aesthetic procedures, with the overall means of 2.35 and 2.38 respectively. This shows that the respondents possess some knowledge concerning aesthetic procedures in terms of physical and psychological aspect of a person. 2.There is no significant difference in the levels of awareness of the respondent when grouped according to age since the computed F-value of 0.315, is less than the critical F-value of 2.460; religion as indicated by the computed T-value of 10.489; civil status with the computed F-value of 0.172 which is less than the critical T-value of 1.98; civil status with the computed F-value of 0.172 which is less than the critical F-value of 2.700;; occupation since the computed F-value 2.079 is less than the critical F-value of 3.090; socioeconomic status: income with the computed F-value of 0.430 is less than the critical F-value of 2.460. However, there is a significant difference when grouped according to gender with the computed T-value of 2.574 which is greater than the critical T-value of 1.98. This shows that the gender affects the level of awareness of a person regarding aesthetic procedures in terms of physical and psychosocial aspect of a person.
