Abstract

This study aims To determine the perception of renal patients in Bacoor Dialysis Center regarding hemodialysis B.Specific: 1.To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, educational attainment, family income per month, and religious affiliation. 2.To determine the perception of the respondents regarding hemodialysis in terms of physical aspect, psychological/social aspect and financial/economic aspect. 3.To determine if there are significant differences in the perception of renal patients regarding hemodialysis in terms of physical aspect, psychological/social aspect and financial/economic aspect when they are grouped according to age, educational attainment, family income per month, and religious affiliation.   The study aimed to determine and evaluate the perception of renal patients in Bacoor Dialysis Center regarding hemodialysis. The respondents are 50 out of 59 patients with end-stage renal disease currently undergoing hemodialysis in Bacoor Dialysis Center of any age, educational attainment, family income per month, and religious affiliation. The gender and number of sessions per week were not included in the criteria. The venue of the research is in Bacoor Dialysis Center. The set up of the hemodialysis unit was not controlled in the study. the following findings were drawn from this study based on the gathered data: 1.Most of the respondents belonged to the age grouped of 41-60 years old and are Catholic. Forty four percent of the respondents attained college level and 58 percent of them has a family income ranging from Php 10,000 and below, 2.The computed overall mean of the respondents regarding hemodialysis is positive. 3.The findings show that there are no significant difference in the perception according to age, educational attainment, family income per month, and religious affiliation. The statistics gathered are as follows; (a) age obtained a computed F value of 0.055 which is less than the P value of 0.983 at 0.05 level of significance; therefore, is not significant; (b) educational attainment obtained a computed F value of 0.497 which is less than the P value 0.686 at 0.05 level of significance; therefore, is not significant; (c) family income per month obtained a computed F value of 0.257 which is less than the P value 0.865 at 0.05 level of significance; therefore, is not significant; and (d) religious affiliation obtained a computed t value of 0.927 which is less than the critical t value of 1.96 at 0.05 level of significance; therefore, is not significant. From the given results these were the following conclusions are formulated: 1.Most of the respondents of the study are in the age group of 41 to 60 years old, had attained college education, has a family income ranging from Php 10,000 and below, and are Catholic. 2.The perception of renal patients in Bacoor Dialysis Center regarding hemodialysis in physical, psychological/social, and financial/economic aspect is positive. 3.There are no significant differences in the perception of renal patients in Bacoor Dialysis Center in all aspects being looked into when they are grouped according to age, educational attainment, family income per month, and religious affiliation.
