Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of awareness regarding attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) among mothers in selected areas in Imus, Cavite. SPECIFIC: 1.To determine the profile of mothers when grouped according to civil status, age, educational attainment and monthly family income. 2.To determine the level of awareness regarding attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) among mothers in selected areas in Imus, Cavite. 3.To determine if there is a significant difference in the level of awareness regarding ADHD among mothers in selected areas in Imus, Cavite when grouped according to civil status, age, educational attainment and monthly family income. Among the 200 respondents, 86% are marries, 49% are within the age group of 28 to 36 years old, 50% are college graduates, and 29% have a monthly family income between Php 4,001 and Php 14, 000. 2.The level of awareness of mothers on the general description, epidemiology, signs and symptoms, and diagnosis studies, treatment and management of ADHD, with the respective computed mean scores of 2,96, 2,94, 3.10, and 2.87, are all only to mild extent. The overall mean is 2.96, meaning the respondents are aware only to be a mild is 2.96, meaning the respondents are aware only to a mild extent on every category about ADHD. 3.There is no significant difference in the level of awareness on the general description, epidemiology, signs and symptoms, and diagnosis studies, treatment, and management of ADHD when grouped according to civil status age, educational attainment, and monthly family income.
