Abstract
Purpose Statement: The intention of this study is to have an in-depth investigation of the social interaction of emergency room nurses towards other health care team members, patients and their relatives, and significant individuals, who, in one way or another, were involved in the interaction. The study also attempted to carefully analyzed and interpret each particular way of interaction that brought out its significance and purpose to their field of work. Specifically, this study answered the question "What are the significant social interactions of emergency room nurses while on duty?" SCOPE AND DELIMITATION: The study was conducted inside the Emergency Room of De La Salle University Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite for three consecutive days from 8am to 6pm only. We interviewed five current emergency room nurses in the said institution. We chose the interviewees based on their availability. The study utilized observation , interview and review of records in gathering data. The analyses of data focused on the interaction at emergency room and not on the entire experience of working as an emergency room nurse. The data gathered was taken from interaction while emergency room nurses were on their duty.
