Abstract

The study utilized a quantitative descriptive type of research to determine the factors affecting non-completion of immunization. There respondents were identified using random sampling and were composed of 100 primary caregivers in Barangay Pulo, Anabu II-C Imus, Cavite, who have a child with the age of 1-5 years and regularly accompany him/her to be vaccinated. The researchers used an adapted-modified questionnaire from the study of Lee at al. (2002). The statistical tests applied in the study were frequency and percentage distribution, mean, t-test and the ANOVA or the F-test. After the results were interpreted, the study came up with the following conclusions: 1) Majority of the primary caregivers in Barangay Pulo are 21 to 40 years old, female, married, obtained high school level of education and unemployed; 2) The knowledge, environment and resources factors have high effect for the non-completion of immunization among infants, while the attitude factor and belief factor have a low effect on it; 3) There was no significant difference on the factors affecting non-completion of immunization among infants when primary caregivers are grouped according to age, gender, civil status, and employment status. However, there was a significant difference on the factors affecting non-completion of immunization among infants when primary caregivers are grouped according to educational attainment. The respondents who were elementary undergraduates were highly affected by the factors affecting non-completion of immunization among infants.
