Abstract

This study utilizes the non-experimental descriptive type of research to assess the benefits of aerobic exercise on healthy aging. The respondents of the study were 100 elderly persons who are performing aerobic exercise on Senior Citizens Fitness Program at Waltermart Parking Lot Dasmarinas City of Cavite and chosen using purposive sampling method. This study employed a self-made questionnaire as the main data gathering tool that has been criticized and validated by the panel, tool validators and the adviser of the researchers. The gathered data were subjected to statistical treatment such as: frequency distribution, mean, t-test and f-test or one-way ANOVA. The study concluded that, 1) Most of the respondents are widowed, female, exercising once a week, exercising for one hour, and with health ailment; 2) The elderly respondents agree that aerobic exercise is beneficial on healthy aging; 3) There are no significant differences on the benefits of aerobic exercise on healthy aging when grouped according to gender, civil status, duration of exercise, frequency of exercise and health condition.
