Abstract
The study utilized the descriptive non-experimental type of research. Respondents of the study were composed of 80 females working in entertainment centers at selected municipalities in Cavite namely, General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Dasmarinas City and Imus. They were chosen through convenience and snowball sampling. A self-made questionnaire was used and 5-point Likert scale to gather information about their level of awareness regarding sexually transmitted disease. The statistical procedures used were frequency distribution, mean, t-test, f-test and Cronbach’s alpha. The following conclusions were formulated: 1) Most of the respondents are 21 to 25 years old, attained secondary level of education, Catholic, single, worked at entertainment center for one (1) year and below and used media as their source of information regarding sexually transmitted disease; 2) The respondents have a high degree of awareness regarding sexually transmitted disease; 3) There is no significant difference on the level of awareness of the respondents when they are grouped according to age and religion. There is a significant difference on the level of awareness when they are grouped according to educational attainment, marital status, number of years working in entertainment centers and sources of information regarding sexually transmitted disease.
