Abstract

This study utilized a non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive type of research design. Out of 268, there were 150 students selected as respondents using convenience sampling. An adapted modified instrument was used in the data gathering. Data was analyzed through frequency distribution, percentage, mean, t-test and f-test/ANOVA. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of Bachelor of Science in Nursing students Batch 2012 of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute are female, eldest in the family, have nuclear type of family structure, have a monthly family income ranging from P30,001 and above, living at home with their family and have combination of type A and type B personality; 2) The respondents strongly agree on the perception regarding to the factors affecting their academic performance and clinical performance; 3) There are no significant differences in the perception of Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing students Batch2012 of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute on the factors affecting their academic performance when grouped according to gender, ordinal position, family structure, monthly family income, place of residence and personality types; 4) There are no significant differences in the perception of Bachelor of Science Nursing students Batch 2012 of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute on the factor affecting their academic performance when grouped according to gender, ordinal position, family structure, monthly family income, place of residence and personality types; 4) There are no significant differences in the perception of Bachelor of Science in Nursing students Batch 2012 of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute on the factors affecting their clinical performance when grouped according to gender, ordinal position, family structure, monthly family income, place of residence and personality types.
