Abstract
The research design was quantitative non-experimental descriptive research. Using convenience sampling and snowball sampling, the study included patients who are diagnosed with coronary artery disease admitted in the hospital and were taken care of by student nurses for two consecutive days. Self-made questionnaire was used for data gathering. Data was analyzed through percentage, mean, t-test for independent means and ANOVA via f-test. The study concluded that, 1) Most of the respondents of the study consisted of female, married and college graduates; 2) The presence of student nurses has a good effect on the overall aspect of the elderly clients diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease; 3) There was no significant difference on the effects of students nurses’ presence as perceived by elderly clients diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease in selected hospitals in Cavite when they were grouped according to gender and civil status. However, the effect of the student nurses’ presence when grouped according to educational attainment on the interpersonal and physical aspects of the elderly elients diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease showed a significant difference but had no significant difference when it comes to emotional aspect.
