Abstract
The study utilized the non-experimental research design. It was conducted on 105 students ranging from 2nd to 4th year students selected by quota sampling comprising of 35 students for each year level. The research instrument used is an adopted and revised research tool from the study of students from De La Salle University Dasmarinas about Nutrition and Dietary Health Consciousness of HRM students. Data was analyzed using percentage distribution, mean, t-test, f-test and ANOVA. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents were 18-19 years old, female, Catholic, residing at their own home with a family income of P30,00 to P49,999. 2) The nursing students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute always eat lunch and dinner and also often eat breakfast. The students have very good dietary habits; 3) Majority of the nursing students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute have a good academic performance; 4) There are no significant differences on the factors affecting the dietary habits when grouped according to age, gender, year level, religious affiliation, and family income. However, there is a significant difference on the factors affecting the dietary habits when grouped according to residence; 5) There are significant differences in academic performance of the nursing students when grouped according to age and year level. However, there are no significant difference in academic performance of the students when grouped according to gender, religious affiliation, residence and monthly family income; 6) There is no significant relationship between the dietary habits and academic performance of Bachelor of Science in Nursing students at De La Salle Health Sciences Institute.
