Abstract
This study utilized the descriptive method type of research using survey as a means of data gathering. The respondents were mothers 16 years old and above whose children had been immunized by a student nurse of DLSHSI in Imus, Cavite selected using purposive sampling. The researchers used a self-made tool to gather data regarding level of confidence of mothers regarding competencies of DLSHSI nursing students in administering vaccines (Expanded Program on Immunization) in selected rural health units of Imus, Cavite and compared the level of confidence of the respondents when they were grouped according to age, educational attainment, civil status, socio-economic status and religious affiliation. Percentage, mean, t-test and f-test were used in order to answer the problems raised in the study. The study concluded that, 1) There are 100 respondents in the study. Majority of the mothers are 26-36 years old, high school graduate, married, have a monthly family income of P10,000 and below, and Catholic; 2) There is a very high level of confidence of mothers who have children vaccinated (Expanded Program on Immunization) by DLSHSI nursing students in selected rural health units in Imus regarding competencies in administering vaccination; 3) The level of confidence of mothers who have children vaccinated (Expanded Program on Immunization) by DLSHSI nursing students is the same when grouped according to age, educational attainment, civil status, socio-economic status and religious affiliation.
