Abstract

A descriptive non-experimental research design using snowball sampling were utilized. A sample size of 387 respondents were chosen. The data gathering tool was an online administered questionnaire. Data was analyzed through frequency distribution, percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation and Kruskal-Wallis H test. The following conclusions were drawn from this study: 1) Majority of the respondents are bisexual, with ages ranging from 18-24 years old, college level, and earn Php 21,914 - Php 43,828 per month; 2) The factors affecting the LGBT community’s willingness to participate in HIV/AIDS testing vary in their extent of affecting willingness. Perceived Benefits, Health Motivation, Perceived Susceptibility, and Perceived Severity affect their willingness to a Very High Extent. On the other hand, Cues to Action, Self-efficacy, and finally, Perceived Barriers are the factors that affect their willingness to a High Extent; 3) The factors affecting the LGBT community’s willingness to participate in HIV/AIDS testing (perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, health motivation, perceived barriers, perceived benefits, cues to action, and self-efficacy) vary according to their age, educational attainment, and monthly income.
