Abstract

This study employed a descriptive analytical quantitative research design and purposive sampling method to evaluate the professional quality of life among Lasallian nurses using a 30-item adapted Professional Quality of Life Scale: Compassion Satisfaction and Fatigue (ProQOL) questionnaire. One-way ANOVA and t-Test were utilized to examine the significance of differences between ProQOL scores and nurse profile variables. The following conclusions were drawn from the findings of the study: 1. The respondents were mostly female, single, working in the Philippines, having a monthly income of Php 21,914 to Php 43,828, having worked for a year to less than three years in medical-surgical nursing, and having a nurse-patient ratio of 1:1–1:5. 2. Average professional quality of life is prevalent among Lasallian nurses. 3. There is a significant difference in the professional quality of life between Lasallian nurses and other profile variables besides age. 4. Study limitations include a narrow sample of Lasallian nurses from 2015– 2020 with limited location options (Philippines or abroad), hindering broad comparisons across continents. The age bracket was also restricted due to the limited scope.
