Abstract
The study utilized a quantitative, analytical type of research. Homogenous sampling is also used in this study since the respondents have similarity in terms of their occupation. T total of 50 public transport drivers in Imus, Cavite were the main focus of the study. The Health Belief Model of Nola Pender was used in the study. They employed a 39-item questionnaire that uses a Likert scale to determine the demographic data the respondents and the awareness of the respondents about the COVID-19 infection prevention practices. Data was analyzed through percentage, mean, standard deviation and ANOVA. The study concluded that, 1) Most of the respondents were 45-54 years old, male, married, high school graduate, had a monthly household income of P11,000-P21,000, working for 1-5 years, and had television as the source of information on COVID-19 infection prevention practice, 2) According to perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits and self-efficacy, the public transport drivers were aware to a high extent. On the other hand, the public transport drivers were aware to a moderate extent on COVID-19 infection prevention practices according to perceived barriers and cues to action, 3) Survey reveals that there are no significant differences between the respondents' level of awareness on COVID-19 infection prevention practices when they are grouped according to age, gender, marital status, number of years working as a public transport driver, and source of information on COVID-19 infection prevention practices. On the other hand, there are significant differences between respondent's level of awareness when grouped according to educational attainment and monthly average household income.
