Abstract

Qualitative research design with convenience and snowball sampling was used. There were 10 participants were interviewed. Colaizzi's method was used to analyze the data. The findings of the study led to the conclusions that each of the Lasallian nurses working in a foreign workplace encountered unique lived experiences. Data gathered from the participants involved in this study have proven that every journey as a Lasallian nurse, especially in a foreign workplace, is challenging. They encountered positive and negative experiences and used these as encouragement and an influence to help themselves improve as nurses. They also received support from their organizations, fellow colleagues, and other Filipino nurses which greatly helped them whenever they encountered new and unfamiliar experiences. Additionally, it is natural for overseas nurses to learn new things in their host country that would enhance their knowledge and skills. Thus, the willingness to learn of the nurses is significant in their effective integration. Besides this, studying at DLSMHSI College of Nursing provided them in-depth knowledge and values needed as nurses to be competent and prepared in all areas of life, including employment and integration into a foreign workplace culture.
