Abstract

The study utilized a non-equivalent group, posttest only quasi-experimental design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling design. The study was conducted at Pagamutan ng Dasmarinas, City of Dasmarinas, Cavite. The respondents of thes tudy were 24 pediatric clients confined in the Emergency Room Department. The research tool used in the study is the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Scale which assess the level of pan in pediatric clients ranging from 3 years old and older. The statistical tests were percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation and t-test for data analysis. The study concluded that, 1) Most of the pediatric clients were 3 years old and male, 2) The level of pain experienced by pediatric clients during IV insertion was very severe pain for the comparison group while for the treatment group, the level of pain was very mild pain, 3) There is significant difference in the level of pain between the comparison and treatment group.
