Abstract

The study utilized a quantitative non-experimental descriptive research design and a modified adopted research tool/questionnaire by Ladouceur (2020). The sampling technique used to gather respondents was convenience sampling. Ninety six (96) respondents of the study were selected. The statistical treatments used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test (ANOVA). The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents were females, not active in their spiritual affiliation, have three active social media accounts, and spent four to six hours on social media, 2) The information dissemination about COVID-19 on social media has an influence of moderate extent on the emotions, contentment, worry, and sadness of adolescents. However, anger, fear, hopelessness, and contentment were in a low extent, 3) There is no significant difference on the influence of information dissemination about COVID-19 o social medial to the emotional responses of the respondents when grouped according to sex and religiosity. There is a significant difference on the influence of information dissemination about COVID-19 on social media to the emotional responses of the respondents when grouped according to the number of social media accounts and time spent on social media.
