Abstract
This study used the phenomenological design, which focused on the lived experiences of nurses caring for substance abuse clients who were in rehabilitation centers. However, it did not aim to generalize the whole experiences of all rehabilitation nurses. They were chosen regardless of their work years of experience, age, marital status, and institution where they are employed. Purposive sampling was used in the study. This study captured the uniqueness of the experiences of the nurses in rehabilitation institution particularly in catering to the needs of their substance abuse clients, their client's relatives, and their new environment and in dealing with their co-medical health care team.
