Abstract

The study utilized the non-experimental descriptive type of research. The population of the study was the selected tuberculosis clients of health centers in Imus, Cavite. Using purposive sampling, the researchers were able to gather 60 tuberculosis clients as respondents of the study. The study made use of a self-made instrument, two part questionnaire with the first part providing the data on the demographic variables and the second covering the 6 categories of the factors that affect patient’s compliance. The study used percentage, frequency, mean, t-test and f-test. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the tuberculosis client respondents were 35 to 64 years old, male, employed, have monthly family income of P10,000 and below, married, have secondary level of education and Catholic; 2) Personal factors, interpersonal factors, spiritual factors, intellectual factors and demographic factors have very high level of association with the compliance while economic factors have high level of association with the compliance of clients with tuberculosis on their treatment course in the health centers in Imus, Cavite; 3) The association of over-all factors on the level of compliance of selected clients with tuberculosis on their treatment course had no significant difference when they were grouped according to age, gender, occupation, monthly income, civil status, educational attainment, and religion.
