Abstract

This study aims to find out the profile of the respondents in terms of: a. ordinal position of the children in the family and b. number of children in the family. 2. To find out the attitudes of the respondents regarding discipline and authority: a. at home and b. in school. 3. To determine if there are significant differences between the attitudes if the respondents regarding discipline and authority at home when grouped according to: a. ordinal position of the children in the family and b. number of children in the family. 4. To determine if there are significant differences between the attitudes of the respondents regarding discipline and authority in school when grouped according to: a. ordinal position of the children in the family and b. number of children in the family. 5. To determine if there is a significant relationship between the attitudes of the respondents regarding discipline and authority at home and in school. Sixty Level IV students out of 89 of the College of Nursing were taken as sample for the study. These respondents were drawn by using the convenience non-probability sampling. It dealt mainly with the respondents' attitudes regarding discipline and authority at home and in school. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusion were drawn: 1. There are no significant differences in the attitudes of the respondents whether at home or in school or whether they are grouped according to ordinal position or number of children in the family. 2. There is a strong positive relationship between the respondents' attitudes at home and in school.
