Abstract

This study was based on the descriptive type of research. The total of 45 students of the graduating Class of ’90 of the College of Nursing of DLSU-EAC were the respondents of this study. They were selected using simple random sampling. Data instrument was questionnaire. The researcher used the frequency distribution for data analysis. The findings of the research were the following: 1) For being ‘conditional’, majority see it as an instrument to scare students unlike perceive it as a screening mechanism; 2) Majority felt that being conditional is a threat, others like a burden, some feel nothing and a few feel excited; 3) Regarding physical effect on being ‘conditional’, majority feel tired while others feet sick and a few feel nothing; 4) Regarding emotional effect on being ‘conditional’, majority feel nervous while others feel bothered and some feel nothing; and 5) Regarding social effect on being ‘conditional’, majority feel withdrawn from friends, others don’t spend time with family and self and a few are unaffected. Based on the findings, the researcher concluded that: 1) Hypothesis I is accepted because according to the respondents, they greatly differ in their perceived reasons for being ‘conditional’; 2) Hypothesis II is also accepted because the perceived feelings of the students differ with one another; and 3) Hypothesis III is also accepted because the study showed that several factors affect the respondents such as physically, emotionally, and socially.
