Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the perceptions of the selected married couple of Barangay Zone 1 Dasmariñas, Cavite regarding sexuality attached to the commonly used family planning method. It aimed to answer, what in the perception of married couple influenced their choice of the common and appropriate method of family planning. In genera, this study reveals that there is a significant relationship between the respondent perception of sexuality and the contraceptives that is to be used. Most number of couple perceived sexuality as part of showing love between husband and wife, their perceptions seems to effect on their choice of specific family planning method. Furthermore, majority of the respondent revealed that a good sexual relationship in marriage is almost always product of mutual understanding and adjustment husband and wife. In general, this study reveals that there is a significant relationship between the respondent perception of sexuality and the contraceptives that is to be used. Most number of couple perceived sexuality as part of showing love between husband and wife, their perceptions seems to effect on the choice of specific family planning method. Furthermore, majority of the respondent revealed that a good sexual relationship in marriage is almost always the product of mutual understanding and adjustment between the husband and wife. However, the proper spacing of children is also important to consider to create a healthy happy family in the future. In search of forgiving findings, the researcher concluded that respondent perception on sexuality strongly affect their choice of commonly used family planning as shown that most of the respondents perceived sexuality as part of showing love between the husband and wife.
