Abstract
This study sought to determine the difference between the third year nursing students of De La Salle University - Emilio Aguinaldo College and Saint Joseph College in terms of their nursing subjects, hospital affiliations and clinical experiences in the ward. The following hypothesis were tested in the study: 1. There is no difference between the third year nursing students of De La Salle University - Emilio Aguinaldo College in their nursing subjects and hospital affiliations. 2. There is no significant in the clinical experiences in the ward between the nursing students of the two subject institutions. It was found out in the study that the twi subject institutions differs in their level III nursing subjects and in the number of their affiliation agencies, because it was revealed that the nursing subjects of both schools in the first and second semester of the school year 1991-1992 had been found to be different in terms of their total number of units per semester, number of major and minor subjects per semester and the additional new subjects offered and their course description. Findings of the study further revealed that Saint Joseph College have more subjects related to nursing than De La Salle University - Emilio Aguinaldo College in two semester. Based on the data gathered regarding the hospital affiliations, results showed that there is a difference in the number of affiliating agency between De La Salle University - Emilio Aguinaldo College and Saint Joseph College as well as the hospital description of these health institutions, because in terms of number, Saint Joseph College has eight (8) affiliation agency, two (2) of them are Manila based specialized hospitals, while De La Salle University - Emilio Aguinaldo College have only two (2) agency of affiliation. Findings on the variable clinical experience, using Chi-square Test for a fixed ratio hypothesis, it was found out that there is no significant difference on the clinical experiences in the ward between the two subject institutions as revealed by the value of 0.20 at five percent (5%) level of confidence and with one (1) as the degree of freedom with a tabular value of 3.84. The following conclusons have been arrived at this study: 1. a. There is a difference in the third year nursing subjects of both subject institutions in terms of their total number of units per semester, number of major and minor subjects pers semester, additional new subjects offered and their course description. b. There is a difference in the hospital affiliations particularly in the number of agency of affiliations and hospital description. 2. There is no significant difference in the clinical experiences in the ward between the nursing students of the two subject institutions,
