Abstract

This descriptive quantitative study examined the perceived effects of biological, psychological, and social factors on the academic performance of the College of Medical Laboratory Science students at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. Using stratified random sampling, 267 students completed a validated survey assessed through a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s rho and tests of independence. Results revealed that motivation, physical health, per and familial relationships were the most influential factors in their respective domains. Significant relationships were found between biopsychosocial factors and academic performance (p < 0.05), indicating that these interrelated factors collectively affect student achievement. The study highlights the importance of addressing biopsychosocial factors to enhance academic success and student well-being.
