Abstract

There have been numerous indicators and prior observations that substantiate the prevalence of sedentary behaviors among undergraduate students, pointing toward the potential significance of this cohort in understanding the dynamics of weight management and healthconscious behaviors. The chosen population of respondents added a unique dimension to the study, offering a targeted exploration of the influence between academic pursuits and health-conscious behaviors within the healthcare profession. A total of 275 1 st first year to 4th fourth year students were chosen as the respondents of the study. Based on the results of the data gathered, the physical activity level of the College of Medical Laboratory Science students is low to moderate, comprising 78.2% of the respondents. The age, BMI, and sleeping hours were regarded as not significant since their p values were considered above the acceptable value of 0.05. The study was able to conclude that, given the low physical activity level of the respondents, a sedentary lifestyle was deemed prevalent among the population. Recognizing the existing global discourse on sedentary lifestyles, the study addressed the crucial need for empirical evidence within this academic cohort.
