Abstract
The ethanolic extract of Malvastrum coromandelianum (L.) Garcke leaves in ICR albino mice in various doses such as 650 mg/kg, 750 mg/kg and 850 mg/kg. Furthermore, forced swimming test and tail suspension test were used to evaluate and observe the antidepressant-like activity of the ethanolic extract of Malvastrum coromandelianum (L.) Garcke leaves. A significant decrease in percent immobility was observed in both screening methods used. For the FST, there were significant negative 59.15% and 77.47% decrease in the immobility for dose 650 mg/kg at p,0.05 and 750 mg/kg at p,0.01, respectively, when compared to the control and standard. In TST, doses 650 mg/kg and 750 mg/kg showed a significant decrease in percent immobility and gave a negative 34.35% and 26.34% change, which were significant at P
