COVID-19 outcomes : a retrospective study of neurological manifestations and associated symptoms (the Philippine CORONA study)

Abstract
Cases were identified using the designated COVID-19 censuses of all the participating centers. A total enumeration of patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease were included in this study.2,792 patients were recruited for the study. As for the demographics, the median age of recruited patients was 51 years old (IQR 34-64) and 33.3% of these are senior citizens (age 60 and above). Most of the patients have no declared exposure to COVID-19 at 47%, while community hospital and international travel exposure accounts for 35%, 14% and 4% respectively. The top 3 comorbid conditions noted were hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease which accounts for 45%, 26% and 6.26% respectively. Only 8.2% had neurological manifestation prior respiratory symptoms. About 50% of samples had neurologic symptoms, however, only 106 out of 1493 people reported their specific symptom. The most common are headache and altered sensorium.
