Abstract

This study utilizes retrospective cohort design wherein charts of 99 hemodialysis patients in DLSUMC from January 2017 to December 2020 who fulfills both the inclusion and exclusion criteria that were admitted or consulted the emergency room for vascular access related complications were reviewed. This study has revealed that there is no significant difference comparing the rate of complications between patients on permanent vascular access versus those on temporary vascular access. However, it was noted in this review that there is a significant difference on the duration of hospital stay if complications form arteriovenous fistula will be compared from that of central venous catheter.
