Abstract

This is a single institution, retrospective cross-sectional review of patients diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer from 2015-2019 who underwent BCS, total mastectomy with SLNB and Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM) in DLSUMC. Hospital-based record used to determine age, tumor size, AJCC stage at presentation and type of surgery done. Univariate analysis used for variables collected in comparison with surgery type. A total of 222 patients with mean age of 54, majority had 3 cm tumor and stage IIA at presentation. The overall BCS rate is 19.37% lower than total mastectomy with SLNB and MRM. Difference of age from each type of surgery was statistically significant with p-value of 0.001037.
