Abstract
The study presents a profile of patients with Basicervical Fractures treated surgically in DLSUMC from 2007-2011. To present a demographic data on patients sustaining Basicervical Fracures as to age, gender, laterality of the injury. To present different surgical treatments of Basicervical Fractures seen in our Institution with either Multiple Screw Fixation, Compression Hip Screw, Hemiarthroplasty. The study included are 36 elderly patients with Basicervical fractures surgically managed at DLSUMC from 2007 to 2011. Retrospective chart review was performed and data were obtained. Based on the data gathered, it was noted that Hemiarthroplasty is the preferred procedure in the study population with the Thompson Prosthesis more commonly used.
