Abstract
Based on this study, it has been observed by the researcher that majority of the radiographs of patients with femoral shaft and extraarticular distal femur fractures were not acceptable since these were not properly taken. It was reported that oblique and comminuted fractures were the common fractures configurations noted to have radiographs that were not acceptable. The presence of multiple injuries did not affect the acceptability of radiographs taken of the patients included in the study population. Lateral views were commonly found to have improperly taken radiographs. Finally, it was noted that most unacceptable radiographs showed rotated distal segments, thus implying that patients may have experienced a significant amount of pain while undergoing the diagnostic procedures.
