Abstract

A review of all patients from 2006-2016 that underwent frozen section for breast mass were included. Frozen Section (FS) and Final Histopathology Reports were placed on a 2x2 table, and sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, positive likelihood ratio, and negative likelihood ratio were computed. A total of 207 charts were reviewed in the study. FS has a sensitivity and specificity of 97.45% and 96% respectively. Positive Predictive Value is at 98.71% and Negative Predictive Value of 92.31%. Positive Likelihood Ratio is 24.363 and Negative Likelihood Ratio is at 0.027. Frozen Section is an accurate procedure in the diagnosis of breast cancer.
