Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate diagnostic accuracy of pre-operative screening sinus CT scan in the assessment of Sinonasal Polyposis among adult patients at De La Salle University Medical Center. All adult Filipino patients referred to the CT-MRI section for Screening Sinus CT scan with clinical diagnosis of Sinonasal Polyposis and underwent Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) in De La Salle University Medical Center, from a period of January 2014 to December 2018. Based on the study, the investigator concluded that screening sinus CT scan has high diagnostic accuracy in recognizing/detecting sinonasal polyposis involving both maxillary and ethmoid sinuses, involvement of turbinates (superior, middle and inferior), and obstruction of the osteomeatal complex using intraoperative findings as gold standard.
