Abstract
The study used the quasi-experimental design specifically the pretest and posttest with the treatment group and comparison group design. Purposive sampling was used to choose the respondents of the study. The participants of this study were 137 nursing students aged 18-26 years old. Participant's data sheet, the knowledge of HPV and HPV vaccine, the attitude toward the use of HPV vaccine, and the behavioral intention towards HPV vaccination were used to collect data. As for the statistical treatment, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test and paired t-test were applied in the study. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the participants belonged to age group 21 to 23, female, single, and with 5,000 to 10,000 monthly family income, 2) There is a remarkable increase in the level of the knowledge, attitude and behavioral intention of HPV vaccination among participants after the peer education in the treatment group. The average knowledge, favorable attitude and probable behavioral intention towards human papillomavirus vaccination among participants have been enhanced to very good knowledge, more favorable attitude and more probable behavioral intention on human papillomavirus vaccination in the treatment group, 3) There is a notable improvement in the level of the knowledge, attitude and behavioral intention towards HPV vaccination among participants in the treatment group compare to the comparison group. The average knowledge, favorable attitude and probable behavioral intention on human papillomavirus vaccination among participants have been enhanced to very good knowledge, more favorable attitude and more probable behavioral intention towards human papillomavirus vaccination in the treatment group, 4) Peer education is an effective health education method to improve the knowledge, attitude and behavioral intention towards HPV vaccination among nursing students.
