Abstract
This research utilizes a hand soap made with Ananas comosus peel extract to determine its antibacterial efficacy. The research has found that there is a significant difference between before and after samples of utilization of the Ananas comosus peel extract hand soap. It has also been found that there is no signficant difference between the Ananas comosus peel extract hand soap and the commercially available antibacterial hand soap. Thus, the Ananas comosus peel extract hand soap is just as effective as the commercially available antibacterial hand soap. Thus, making Ananas comusus peel extract hand soap a viable replacement to the possible harmful and dangerous triclosan in commercially available antibacterial hand soap.
