Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of the flipped classroom model on the academic performance of Grade 11 students in the ICT subject at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute–Senior High School (DLSMHSI–SHS) during the 2023– 2024 school year. Using an explanatory sequential mixed-method design, the researchers first gathered quantitative data through surveys and followed up with qualitative feedback from open-ended responses. The study examined student engagement, comprehension, and the practical application of ICT concepts in a flipped learning environment. Results showed that the majority of students perceived the flipped classroom as beneficial for understanding complex ICT topics and promoting independent, self-paced learning. However, challenges such as motivation, time management, and technical barriers were also identified. Despite some negative experiences, the overall findings suggest that the flipped classroom model positively impacts student learning in ICT when adequately supported with proper resources and guidance. The study contributes to the growing literature on modern teaching strategies and offers practical implications for educators, institutions, and policymakers aiming to enhance digital-era learning.
