Abstract
The study aims to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of selected residents of Dasmariñas City, Cavite towards abortion and its implications for the community. Data gathering was conducted using Google Forms, and most of the respondents (93.9%) fell within the 18-to-25-yearage bracket, leading to a greater prevalence of liberal attitudes toward abortion. Knowledge and attitudes were assessed through 17 items that required yes or no responses. In terms of knowledge, gaps were identified as some respondents were unaware of safe and unsafe methods of abortion, highlighting the need foreducation on the subject. Moreover, the study examined the knowledge and attitudes of the respondents and their implications for their communities using 9items with yes or no responses. The gathered data revealed that the knowledgeand attitudes of the selected residents of Dasmariñas, Cavite had an impact on the community. Additionally, the data collection process provided evidence of persistent stigma surrounding abortion in Dasmariñas, Cavite, which hinders open discussions on the topic and access to contraceptive and post-abortion services.
