Abstract
As one of the basic needs, there are still people who do not have access to clean drinking water leading to high rates of different outbreaks, also affected by malpractices of water consumption. The aim of this study was to assess the occurrence of waterborne diseases in relation to water consumption practices and microbial quality of water source in Barangay San Lorenzo Ruiz I, Dasmariñas City Cavite. The social assessment of water consumption practices was done through a survey of 157 households while pH and Most Probable Number Test were used to assess the water quality. The pH level measurement had shown that the water sample had a pH of 6.8 and was within the standard range of pH 6-8 for drinking water set by WHO. As there was no production of gas in the tubes, the samples were negative with
