Abstract

Education pursuance among college students is one of the aspects affected by COVID-19 lockdowns. Previous research has shown how the lockdowns affected the education field in general. However, they have failed to dwell on the effects of COVID-19 lockdowns on education pursuance in terms of psychological, physiological, and socioeconomic factors. This research focuses on the assessment and comparison of the three stated factors among college students. It utilizes a mixed method research design. The participants of this research are 120 second and third year college students in De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI). Among the 120 respondents who have undergone a quantitative approach, 14 have been subjected to a qualitative approach. Data gathered from the interviews were analyzed and treated using ANOVA and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that there is a significant difference in the perceived factors affecting education pursuance brought about by COVID-19 lockdowns among the respondents.
