Abstract
This study provides a bacterial quality of water from community swimming pools in Dasmariñas. A total of 8 water samples were collected from 4 community swimming pools and were analyzed for Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC). Heterotrophic bacterial load from collected water samples ranged between less than 1 to 500 cfu/ml having an average of 257.125 cfu/ml. Four out of eight of the pools had HPC within acceptable limits (/ml), whereas the other four were highly contaminated having greater than 500 cfu/ml and did not conform to the standards of 200 cfu/ml as set by the World Health Organization.
