Abstract

For the school year 2020-2021, the COVID-19 pandemic caused disruptions in education, including internship programs for medical students, therefore having the need to adjust for internships to push through. Clinical practicum was done online, resulting in “online related learning experiences” or online RLEs. This study aimed to determine whether online RLEs are effective alternatives as perceived by nursing students in connection to their professional skills, job preparations, and practical applications. The study used nonparametric tests to interpret the data gathered and assessed if there is a significant difference between the respondents’ perception in relation to the demographic variables. The result of the study showed that respondents were uncertain whether online related learning experiences are effective alternatives for conventional clinical practicum. Additional indicators and parameters must be considered to fully assess this new mode of internship program.
