Abstract

Caffeinated coffee contributes a lot to the lives of senior high school students as it aids them to cope with their academic work. It is important to know the effects of coffee caffeine on the students’ routines to understand more about how their consumption affects their study habits. This research examines senior high school students from three private schools in Dasmarinas City, Cavite, namely

De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute, De La Salle University- Dasmarinas and Immaculate Concepcion Academy. Initially, a pilot testing was

conducted to 50 students from DLSMHSI SHSSHS. Survey questionnaires were disseminated to an estimated number of 120 senior high school students, 40 respondents from each said school. The results show that individuals who drink coffee believe that it has a significant impact on their well-being, resulting in the reduction of their academic stress. In connection, the majority of respondents perceived that the best intervention for their coffee consumption is to obtain enough sleep. In conclusion, it is agreed that drinking coffee helps students become more focused and motivated to accomplish more tasks in the designated timetable, also considering that it has moderate effects on their sleeping pattern. Moreover, students are willing to find healthier interventions to be an alternative to their coffee intake.
